Description

Neurodivergent people represent a significant part of Australia’s population, yet traditional fundraising, volunteering, employment and program delivery practices can overlook their needs and strengths. In this candid session, two neurodivergent fundraising leaders explain neurodiversity, challenge outdated stereotypes and examine how conventional ways of working can exclude people.

Drawing on lived experience, the presenters will introduce practical frameworks based on universal design and more thoughtful engagement. Attendees will gain guidance they can apply in everyday work to reduce assumptions and better serve neurodivergent donors, volunteers, employees and beneficiaries. The session also explores the valuable qualities neurodivergent people can bring to non-profit organisations, including generosity, creativity, justice-focused thinking and a willingness to challenge established approaches.
