Many fundraising teams invest heavily in prospect research and compelling cases for support, yet still struggle to build momentum. The missing link is rarely the case, it’s access. In this session, co‑presented by Xponential and FR&C, participants explore how prospect research and the art of asking work together to unlock access to priority donors. Rather than treating research as a ranking exercise or asking as a single courageous moment, the session reframes both as part of a disciplined, intentional process focused on relationships, influence and readiness. Drawing on FR&C’s expertise in prospect research and Xponential’s access‑led approach to major gifts, the session combines strategic insight with practical application. Participants take part in a guided access‑mapping exercise and are introduced to clear frameworks that translate insight into confident decisions about who opens the door, how introductions are made, and when the ask should occur.
