Buddy Program
What is the Conference Buddy Program?
Attending an event as large as FIA Conference can be daunting at first, especially for those who don’t know many other people there.
The Buddy Program was introduced to help first-time conference attendees settle into the conference. They will be matched with someone who has attended previously who can show them around, answer any questions, have a coffee together, introduce them to others and to be a familiar face.
How does it work?
Once you opt-in via the Conference registration form, FIA will match you with your buddy and make the initial introduction to connect you via email. From there, first-timer attendees and their buddies are encouraged to be in contact with each other about 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the Conference to ask/answer questions about conference attendance. On the first day of the Conference those in the Buddy Program will have an opportunity to connect in person. This will be held inside the exhibition, during the morning tea break.
Who can join?
All Conference attendees are welcome to opt-in for the Buddy Program. If you would like to be a buddy to a first-time attendee, the only pre-requisite is that you have attended at least one FIA Conference in the past.
