AI coding tools are giving fundraising teams new ways to solve everyday problems without needing software development experience. By describing a need in plain language, fundraisers can create simple tools to clean data, check appeal files, track stewardship actions, prepare reports, visualise supporter activity and streamline workflows.

This hands-on masterclass introduces accessible AI coding agents, including Codex and Claude Code, in a practical, non-technical way. Data safety is central to the session, with guidance on privacy risks, Australian and New Zealand legal expectations and when fundraising data should not be used with consumer AI tools.

Using realistic test data, participants will build a small, low-risk tool based on a common fundraising challenge. They will leave with a clearer understanding of how AI can help the people closest to the work solve, improve and reimagine everyday processes.
