Building more meaningful relationships with your supporters: A practical guide to using the new science of Philanthropic Psychology
Description

This session will draw on the science of how human beings form relationships to inform how we might build stronger, loving, and more fulfilling relationships with our supporters.

Many organisations claim to be practising ‘Relationship Fundraising’ but, in reality, there is little agreement about what that actually means and what might constitute a relationship approach.

In this session I’ll pull apart relationship fundraising, and the related concept of donor-centricity, drawing on the new science of Philanthropic Psychology, or PhilPsych. I’ll also share with you our experimental testing and show you many examples of how organisations around the world have put our ideas into practice. All delegates are welcome to submit a sample of their material for the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy to analyse and reflect on in advance of the Masterclass. In that way we can use a blend of your local Australian and New Zealand examples and ours.
