Margie is the principal of Common Ground Commercial Advisory Services, a business management and law consultancy. She is also an Associate Lecturer in law at Queensland University of Technology.

Margie’s consultancy focuses on assisting Aboriginal organisations to transition from not-for-profit to profit-for-purpose, enhancing their ability and independence to pursue their caring for Country, cultural and community activities. She is currently working with Gummingurru Aboriginal Corporation on its first fund raising campaign, supported by a $75,000 grant from the Queensland Government’s Looking After Country Program. The campaign funds will be used to acquire culturally and environmentally significant land to enhance the Gummingurru Stone Arrangements Site and enable a proposed authentic Indigenous tourism business.

Margie’s background is in BigLaw. She has also held roles as Executive, Corporate Counsel and Commercial Manager in large corporates.
